Welcome Our New Pastoral Family
God has blessed us in many ways us across the years through pastors and their families who have come to serve us. So, we’re looking forward to Pastor Dan & his family’s arrival at the end of the month. In case you want to send them a welcome card, here’s their address:
Rev. Dan, Krista, Rich, Rett & Anna Lyons
                        P.O. Box 637
                  Valdese, N.C. 28690

What’s Your Excuse?
Almost all of us try to give an excuse on occasion for why we are exempt from service in God’s Kingdom. We claim some “disqualifier” so that we don’t have to live out our calling as Disciples of Christ or we honestly don’t feel that we’re “good enough” for God to use in any significant way. But the next time you feel that way or go to excuse yourself, remember this:
NOAH was a drunk, ABRAHAM was too old, ISAAC was a daydreamer, JACOB was a liar, LEAH was ugly, JOSEPH was abused, MOSES couldn’t talk in front of folks, GIDEON was afraid, SAMSON was a long-haired womanizer, RAHAB was a prostitute, JEREMIAH and TIMOTHY were too young, DAVID was an adulterer and murderer, ELIJAH was suicidal, ISAIAH preached naked, JONAH ran from God, NAOMI was a widow, JOB went bankrupt, JOHN the Baptist ate bugs, PETER denied Christ, the DISCIPLES fell asleep during prayer, MARTHA was a worrier, MARY MAGDALENE was demon-possessed, the SAMARITAN WOMAN was divorced…several times, ZACCHEUS was too short, PAUL was too zealous, TIMOTHY had an ulcer, and LAZARUA WAS DEAD!!
So, why is it that God can’t use you for something great?
